This stall has specialized in bulk frozen produce, ranging from fish, seafood, vegetables and readymade meals. Most of the fish is caught nationally, for example gallo de San Pedro, selected salmon and wild cod; under seafood, you can find Canadian lobster, Spanish lobster, Caribbean lobster tails, Mediterranean prawns, Black Tiger prawns, Argentine king prawns (shelled or unshelled) as well as Norway lobster. The readymade meals include sautéed vegetables, paella mix, steamed vegetables or vegetables suitable for cooking in a wok as well as some top quality starter dishes too.
This is one of the oldest stalls in Santa Catalina Market and has been passed down through four generations. It first started as a stall selling potatoes, followed by fish and then about 50 years ago, they embarked on selling the first frozen goods available with the help of their cold storage facility which, at the time, functioned with huge blocks of ice.

This charming bakery is a branch of Ca Sa Camena Bakery, with more than one hundred years of experience using only the best ingredients to satisfy their demanding clients. Everything they produce is made on the premises following artisan methods passed down through four generations of the same Amengual family.
You can choose from a wide variety of bread: white, the traditional salt-free Mallorcan brown bread used for pa amb oli, the typical llonguets, popular with many well-known cafés in Palma (eg Bar Bosch) as well as the more modern varieties using different cereals.
The savoury Mallorcan empanadas, pasties filled with meat or peas, vegetable cocarrois, both savoury and sweet or the cocas (Mallorcan version of pizza) made with vegetables or peppers or trampó (typical Mallorcan summer salad made up of Mallorcan light green pepper, white onion and tomato) will bring back memories of teatime at your grandmother’s house.
Besides this traditional confectionery, they also make potato cake and the famous ensaimada in all its different varieties and sizes including plain, with apricots or a creamy filling; palmeras, cremadillos and almond cake.
Lovely market stall at Mercat Santa Catalina, founded in the spring of 2015. The owners originally from French, came to the island in order to share with us a different way of cooking the roast chicken.

This stand selling pickled or salted foodstuffs is rather like going back in time when our mothers used to do their shopping in the local food shop.
Orginally set up in 1944, this traditional business was taken over in 2012 by Pep who has managed to maintain its character and best selling products. You will find all kinds of olives, whitebait and anchovies in a homemade marinade, many types of vegetables, local fare such as sopas mallorquinas, sobrasada, homemade cured meats as well as the locally produced pasta burballa Bendinat which is hard to find today in normal supermarkets but vital for making “burballes de conill”.
They will prepare any kind of pickled vegetable or desalt a piece of cod to order and to your personal liking.
